beachThe “Dog Days” of August are almost upon us, and so you may want to consider a Faux Surfing Party for your kids this month. It is a great summer theme, and would be easy to do. Actually, you could do a lot of activities from The Luau Party Plan, but add a few other games/activiites to make it more “surfy!”

Check out Surf Party Supplies to make your planning thematic and easy!

Here are Faux Surfing Party Ideas:

As a decoration, set up a “Surf Club” where you have the drinks and snacks for the kids. Make sure to make a big “Surf Club” sign.

Put Surf Boards around as a decoration. You can use ironing boards as a fun alternative. Just put beach towels on them to dress them up to fit the theme.

Play Beach Volleyball.

Have a Mock Water-Skiing Competition. On non-polished floors, put down two small pieces of carpet. Have the kids stand on the carpet pieces and hold onto a small rubber tire, which has a long piece of rope attached. Recruit some adult volunteers to pull the kids, thus mock water skiing.

Rig up a Best Surfer Competition. Hang a white sheet from a wall, and project an ocean picture onto the sheet. Have the kids “ride” a surfboard in front of the scene. Call out different positions they must do on the surfboard.

Have a water relay races with a cup of water.

Have a water balloon toss.

If you have sand available, have a sand castle competition.

Make Milk Shakes!

Don’t forget the beach music….especially the infamous Beach Boys!!
