Seating at a Little Kids’ Party

shutterstock_27981227What is the best way to seat small kids at a birthday party without having to rent a small table and mini chairs?

See if you have any small tables that your kid plays at and use this table and any chairs that may go with it. Depending on how many kids you have at the party, you may need to ask some neighbors and friends if you can borrow their little tables and chairs as well. No one will know that there are different tables underneath the cloth and will this will suit your party crowd perfectly.

Sick Kids @ The Party

shutterstock_254585111A family who has had sick kids all week with a stomach bug are planning to attend my kids’ party this weekend!  How can I politely ask them to stay home, as I don’t want everyone else getting sick at our party?

Honesty is the best policy on this one.  Call your friend and simply say, “I am really concerned about you & your family attending the party this weekend because some of you may still be contagious.  With it taking 7-10 days to stop spreading the virus, I am afraid that the other little ones may get sick.  I would hate to have that happen at the party.  I really hope you understand, and we are going to miss you.  Would you guys be available to get together in a few weeks?  We would love to see you then.”

Dora’s Halloween

I was just watching Dora’s Halloween with my two-year old niece last night. She is at that age where she doesn’t quite get the whole Halloween holiday, but she is noticing the orange twinkly lights on a tree in the neighbor’s yard and the pumpkins on the front porches … most yet to be carved. Her best “character” friend is Dora these days and so sitting down with the Dora’s Halloween Adventure with Dora, Boo, and Monster was quite fun and educational for her.
