Special Notes: This is a great party for young children and can be done within 90 minutes. Kids love jungle animals, and so making their favorite games “jungle themed” is sure to be a hit. Also, an easy thing to do is if you have a “jungle gym” in your backyard, let the kids free play. They will have fun. This party could also be done well at an outside venue, such as a park, too.
Invitations:
Type up your invitations and roll them up and place into a box of animal crackers. Hand-deliver the boxes to the invited guests.
Cut out monkey, elephant, and tiger shapes from construction paper and decorate the front with the animal profile. On the back, provide all of the “Jungly” details!
Decorations:
Purchase blow up jungle animals. They will be large and a good party decoration. When the children arrive, blind fold the kids and have them feel the jungle animal and guess which one it is!
Create a jungle with green grass colored streamers hanging from the ceiling in the party room. Make sure to make an area very thick with the streamers, and the kids will have a blast running through the “jungle.”
Choose jungle themed colors and fill the area with balloons in those shades. Tie them to the kids’ chairs at the party table. Color could include: Brown, Orange, and Green. Add a few jungle animal helium balloons as well.
Place jungle stuffed animals around the room, and as a centerpiece for the party table.
Purchase jungle themed tableware and tablecloth, or go with primary colors to match the balloons. Sprinkle confetti all over the table of lions, elephants, tigers, etc.
Wear safari hats to welcome your guests.
Paint brown noses and whiskers onto your guests as they arrive.
Provide little jungle caps to the kids and have their name on it with a few jungle animals painted on the cap. Or you could have the children decorate their own caps upon their arrival.
Games/Activities:
Hire a puppeteer who can put on a jungle puppet show. These kids will love it. If you have a more limited budget, hire a few teenagers to do a funny little puppet show themselves for the guests.
Play “Pin the Tail on the Monkey.”
Safari Hunt: Hide little stuffed animals, wind up animals, and any other little wild animal toys, and have the children go on a hunt. They can keep what they find as part as their goody bags.
Have a Bean Bag Toss into a Monkey’s mouth.
Play jungle animal charades and have the kids act out an animal and the others have to decide which animal it is. Once they got it, all of the kids can jump up and act like that animal.
Play “Lion, Lion, Hyena” as you would “Duck Duck Goose.”
Crafts:
Have kids enjoy coloring and/or drawing jungle animals and scenes as they arrive. You can place mural paper on the wall and have the kids draw these pictures there. This will then serve as an additional party decoration.
Make jungle animal stamps out of sponges. Older kids can cut the shapes out themselves. For little ones, have the animals already cut out and have the children stamp the animals using washable paint on sheet paper. Or little ones can take the sponges home as a favor for a bath toy.
Have the kids make binoculars out of toilet paper rolls and black string. Have them wear them during the party.
Food:
Cut out little sandwiches into different jungle animal shapes. Fill them with banana and peanut butter, of course be careful of allergies!
Enjoy Jello Jigglers in different jungle animal shapes.
Make jungle animal sugar cookies and have the kids decorate them with icing and sprinkles2
Serve lemon-lime soda.

Favors:
Make a little lion paper cup, using a brown or orange cup. Take the green streamer and fringe it and place around the top part of the cup. Complete the lion’s face with google eyes, and little brown pom pom nose, and then a marker to draw the mouth. Fill the cups with pixie stix, gummy candy, jungle pencils, eraser, and pad of paper, jungle stickers, plastic jungle bugs, etc.
