clip_image002Welcome Dianne!  A Guest Party Blogger!!

Dianne Velez is the owner of Colorblind Productions, an event coordinating, entertaining and documenting company in the NY/NJ Metropolitan Area.  She just made the step into the smaller party planning after 13 years of weddings and larger scale events because she finds that creativity can shine the brightest in smaller events. Her plan is to give a good dose of design and theme unity to baby showers, wedding showers, dinner parties, birthday parties and the like. It’s perfect for those who have a ‘vision’ of the kind of event they want, but either don’t have the time or means to get it accomplished

I use my experience in weddings to initiate creative endeavors for smaller events. I have seen my fair share of innovative ideas and as a coordinator it’s my job to be on top of these things. I run a blog that I just recently started that highlights details of events and provide tips and inspiration to those who read it. www.colorblindproductions.blogspot.com.

The Milk & Cookies party! Searching for an innovative theme for my daughter Nilsa’s party, I thought of many different things. I wanted to step away from a character party, or reliance on pre packaged birthday theme sets. I wanted innovative but I also wanted it to be child-oriented. Milk & Cookies could not have been more perfect! What child or child at heard does not love that combination?

The color scheme was yellow, brown and white. Polka dots helped highlighted the milk and cookies that abounded. Nilsa’s pictures captured for her invitation of her eating cookies were on most everything.

A full scale tiled image was used as decoration. I make them now and sell them on etsy. HERE.

A custom banner was also displayed

Centerpieces were individual jars of chocolate, oatmeal, and sugar cookies and each was surrounded by photo boxes made of assorted pictures of the birthday girl’s first year of life.

Individual ‘lollypop’ style descriptions of the food available told guests what the culinary treasures were

A safe zone was set up for those non walking children to play and roll around without worry of being stampeded by older children. It also allowed the parents of said children to put their kids down and mingle with guests without too much preoccupation

Individual sized FRESH milk from Ronny Brook Farms in both whole and chocolate along with brown bags of cookies were given to guests as favors

And my favorite balloon guy was on hand to make fabulous balloons for the guests. An absolutely SWEET time.
