A great blog that I enjoy reading is The Juggle over at the Wall Street Journal. A few months ago, they discussed why parents may or may not RSVP to kids’ parties. Just this week, the blog also spotlighted Birthday Party Madness. The blog’s author discusses the celebration she has planned for her soon-to-be three-year-old…and asks readers to chime in about their ideas on the topic. The comments are an interesting read…especially since many parents are embracing the idea of a simple, easy party…some discuss giving no goody bags and others about asking for charitable donations in lieu of presents. There is a good mix, however, with a few parents talking about the big parties they have thrown too.
It’s worth a read if you want a quick measure on what parents think about kids’ parties.
