My child is turning 3 in December. I want to give him a party with a theme that he will fully enjoy…BUT he changes his mind every few weeks! With entertainers booking up so quickly for the December holiday season, by the time he decides what he really wants it may be too late to book the right entertainer. When should I book an entertainer to make sure he gets what he wants?

This is a VERY tricky situation given that entertainers book up for the holidays very quickly. The earlier you can book your entertainer the better. Still, if he is into pirates in June and you book your entertainer, with this age group, I can easily see that he may not be into them 5 months later….3 year olds can be awfully fickle in what they like!

Book an entertainer for your December party in early October at the latest. Take a check of what you child is interested in at that time. Try to have your child tell you what he likes generally, i.e. trains, princess, etc. In this way, you can hire an entertainer under a more general umbrella…as an example, you may not get exactly a Barbie, but you have a princess party that will suffice her interest. Once you have booked your entertainer, make sure to tell your child all about his special party that is coming up very soon…talk it up to maintain their interest in the theme.

This can be a difficult situation given the age and how quickly they change their minds combined with a very busy time of year. Parents must really plan ahead and be clever in getting the right entertainer for their kids’ party!

Good Luck!!

  3. Here’s some advice about booking for a 3 year old. Find an entertainer who does many different Characters. Not to toot my own horn but I’m one of them. I’ve had customers book me for a Pirate then say my child would prefer a Cowboy a week before the party. Any professional entertainer should be able to accommodate your request.

P.S. Its never too early to book for the Holidays!
