Super Bowl Sunday is quickly approaching, and it’s no secret that family budgets are tight this year. You can still host a fabulous Super Bowl party without spending a lot of money.

1. Host a Potluck Party
The most important element of any party is the company. Friends and family will understand if you explain you’d love to host a Super Bowl gathering, but could use a hand in food preparation.
Work with your party guests to come up with food ideas that will fit in everyone’s time constraints and budget. Set out the food buffet-style so everyone can sample one another’s dishes.
2. Check Out Discount and 99-Cent Stores
Find decorations and party supplies for a fraction of the cost at 99-cent stores. Be creative with what you find.
3. Buy in Bulk
Purchase only what you know will make great leftovers for your family. This way, leftover snacks and dishes can be eaten throughout the week, and won’t go to waste.
4. Serve Inexpensive Appetizers
Inexpensive appetizers, such as chips and salsa, will fill up your guests so you can scrimp on the main meal. Serve a hearty layer dip and plenty of chips.
You can also go light on the main meal. Chili, for example is an easy dish that contains ingredients that can easily be purchased in their generic form and/or in bulk.
