Looking for a way to kick off your kid’s birthday in a simple, yet special way?
Serve the cake first thing up! This will work especially well if this isn’t a birthday party year, and it will just be a family celebration. Instead of waiting until after dinner in the evening to serve the cake, gather your family together while the birthday kid still sleeps. Place candles on the cake, and burst into the bedroom singing “Happy Birthday” together. The first time you do this it will be a surprise, but it can certainly become a tradition that your kids look forward to on a yearly basis.
If you are planning a party on the same day, then bring in a cupcake or a muffin with a candle. It need not be the party cake…any cake will suffice. This is a wonderful way to start a very special day, and the entire family being together will make for excellent family memories!
