OK, Disney has done it again: They’ve created a new phenomenon for tweens and teens and all of us who are tweens and teens at heart! Are you ready to go to Camp Rock? It’s bound to be loads of fun, especially since it features the very popular Jonas Brothers This smash hit movie is now out on DVD, which makes it perfect for a Camp Rock movie viewing party!

Here are some ideas to help bring this party together:

Check out Celebrate Express to gather all of your Camp Rock party supplies!

1. The majority of the party will be taken with viewing the movie, of course!

2. When the guests enter, have your party area set up like your very own Camp Rock, with a sign saying, “Welcome to Camp Rock.”

3. Make a camp roster, and have the kids check in when they arrive. If you like, provide a tamborine to each guest on arrival so everyone can get in on the music making. As another option, check out this great favor set from Birthday in a Box that has a microphone, tamborine, sticker sheet, wrist band, and mini note pad all in one.

4. This is a great opportunity to have a slumber party. The kids can pitch tents outdoors.

5. Clear an area in your home or backyard so these camp rockers can show off their sounds, moves, and looks.

    • Have a makeover area where the girls can primp themselves with hair brushes, lip gloss, nail polish, and hair spray. Remember, it all starts with the look.
    • Have Jonas Brothers music and the Camp Rock soundtrack playing in the background. Let the kids put some moves together to match the songs. They can spend time choreographing and performing together. This will be loads of fun for the kids as a pre-movie activity.

6. Serve up camp food that the kids will love by enjoying a cookout. Make hamburgers, hot dogs, and potato salad, and serve chips and dips. S’mores over a backyard campfire after the movie would be a sweet ending treat. Other fun ideas include Ants on a Log (celery sticks filled with peanut butter with raisins on top) and Ticks on a Toilet Seat (a cored out apple sliced up and covered with peanut butter and sunflower seeds on top), or a Star cake.

7. During the movie, an adult can write down trivia questions, and the kids can guess who said that line, what song was sung first, or particulars about the characters after the movie is over.

8. Enjoy a round of Camp Rock karaoke to the Camp Rock soundtrack!

If you have a Wii video game console, a fun and easy way to karaoke your heart out is with the Wii Disney Sing It game. It is basically a karaoke video game and features music from Camp Rock, as well as other Disney channel favorites (like Hannah Montana and High School Musical). The tweens at the party will not be able to put this down!

9. I love pinatas, and Celebrate Express has a perfect guitar pinata to fit the Camp Rock theme.

They’ll need to bring the sounds, the moves, and the look to this party! This is going to be a hit!

Have an awesome Camp Rock viewing party!

Say It!

  1. these parents have terrible ideas for parties….i’m sry…but who would want to make a sign and check in when they get there? i’m 13 and it sounds like u guys r trying 2 throw a party 4 a 5-yr old! teenagers r the only ones who can really understand these messages to these movies anyway! in high school musical, u would have to go to a middle school or a high school to understand the whole clique system…..so parents…leave it to the teens to make these ideas. because even if it looks like we don’t care…we do.

  2. I would love to hear ideas from teens as to what they would like to do at a Camp Rock Party…what are yours? What is the message in Camp Rock to tweens and teens?

    Overall, have fun!

  5. I agree with Jona.
I mean not all of them are bad, but a camp roster??
    Please.

What I have planned for mine, is of course a sleepover, karaoke, a dance competition (make teams and have them make up moves to a camp rock song), and of course a talent competition. That may sound a little more teen. Teens wanna do things and when you become a teenager you want to branch out and find what you wanna do.

I am 13 and I personally love singing, dancing, and acting.

I think some of these ideas were helpful, but most were a little too young.

  9. My daughter will be turning 13 that weekend so we are having a “Camp Rock” party also. We will have a campout /sleepover inside or out depending on the weather and will add guitar hero and dance dance revolution to the fun. We will be serving camp food…I like the guitar shaped cookie idea, I’ve also seen guitar shaped pinatas if you want to add alot of sugar to the mix! The movie will be recorded and probably replayed many times…I’m sure I won’t have to entertain them at all!

  11. I’m thirteen, also. I think some of these ideas are pretty good. Here’s my Camp Rock party plan.

Everyone get there around 5:30. Eat hamburgers, hot dogs, etc, and hang out in the backyard. At six set up tents in the backyard and listen to the Camp Rock soundtrack (hand out lyrics for each song so we can sing along during the movie!) At 7:45 get set up in the living room. Popcorn, and other munchies. At 8 watch the movie! (obviously) At ten when the movies over we’re gonna go back outside and listen to more Camp Rock. We’ll set up a fire in the fire pit and make s’mores. At 10:30 we’ll hang out in the tents and plan our show for the next day. *sleep!* Next day we will rehearse and then present!

  12. I’m thirteen too! But trivia and a camp roster that is a little cheesy! At my party we’re having hot dogs to eat. We’re gonna play Guitar Hero, Mario Cart, and Wii Sports on my Wii! Have karaoke and a dance competition while listening to the Camp Rock Soundtrack and Jonas Brothers! We’ll probably play board games when we get bored! I don’t plan to get a lot of sleep! I have Tivo so i will watch Camp Rock all night! It will be awesome!!! I hope everyone has a great time at their times!

  15. hey guys! I’m 11 and I like those ideas. All except for the check in camp roster thingy. I’m having a party with my two best friends. First we get there, and we put on our bathing suits and jump into the pool. after. we dry of change and eat a snack. Pine apple. I’m bringing costumes and wigs to my friends house. we put those and makeup on over our pajamas. I also brought fake microphones. So when we watch the movie and a song comes on we dance and sing along and stuff. then after we pack up all our stuff, we get home. The party lasts from 6:40 to !0″00. So its like a *mini sleepover* !
cool, right? its a simple way to do things. we are going to eat at home though. so all we will have at party house will be pineapple ice cream and water and juice or something to drink. :)

  16. okay actually it went like this.
We came to the house at 7:00, got our bathing sauits on and went in pool. at 7″41 untilm 7:57, we played pin the sunglasses on the jonas brothers. At &:57, we hurriedly put on our costume and wigs and sorts. We watch movie until 10:00 when it ends. The snacks well we didnt eat the pineapple. We ate marshmallows and guitar and microphone shaped hannah montana lolly pops and gummies sweet and sour. During the songs we danced and sANG INTO MY FAKE MICROPHONES. We had a great time. We went home at 10:15. simple but funh. we didnt really do alot of planning, but the heck with thnat. were not caterers.

  17. I’m 17 and i was planning on throwing a camp rock party too! these ideas are awesome, i love the roster, because i know at most birthday parties kids sign in for a memory page for the birthday boy/girl. now that camp rock is online, i’m going to set up the projector in my backyard and watch it on a “big screen” with my friends. also we’re going to have tacos like in the movie & a bonfire. the tent idea is so cool too. i was also thinking about having it at my local lake where there are canoes and lots of “camp-like” activities. i loved this idea!!! thanks so much!!!

  21. We’ve rented a 2br cabin for a sleepover. for food we are having taco night like the movie. cake I am making microphone cupcake cones and putting them in a cupcake tree (we did a guitar cake last year for hannah montana so she wants something new). for games we are going to play pin the sunglasses on Joe, count # of times rock is said in the movie (i found these cute sparkly notepads and maribu pens at oriental trading that they will get in their party bags to help them keep track), and a character guess where each guest has a name of a camp rock character taped to their back and they have to ask questions to figure out who it is. then they are each going to be given the chance to preform to their favorite camp rock song (lyrics provided if needed or they can just dance.) and the best ones will get a prize. finally we will make smores around the fire and tell if i were a rockstar stories.

Wow!!! Actually, Camp Rock, as well as High School Musical were intetionaly for kids ages 11-15. I agree, to understand the whole messages of HSM and Camp Rock to have to be a tween or teen. Around that age kids really want to fit in but the movies send out the meassage that you should be yourselves! Parents only see those movies as something disney created for little kids to dance and sing along to! They think all of Disney is for little kids!!! Its not! Shows like The suite life on Deck, Sonny with a Chance, J.O.N.A.S and Wizards of Waverly Place are ALL of tweens and teens!!! Not your little brat kids or you freak parents!!!! Disney movies like Camp Rock, HSM and more are for TWEENS AND TEENS!!!!! NOT LITTLE KIDS!!! you only think its for younger kids cuz you dont understand the messages it sends off!!!!!! You only liked it because you dont see the message given off by the movie. Here are what we are doing for my 13th bday- sleepover in my basement in 4 diff. tents, listen to Camp Rock soundtrack as well as Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato’s album, read magazines, chat, watch the movie, make up stories (ghost, random, funny), cook smores, hotdogs, burgers, ect. and more fun stuff! YOU DONT UNDERSTAND CAMP ROCK!!!!!! DONT YOU EVEN RELISE THE ACTORS/ACTRESSES ARE TEENS????? ON LITTLE KIDS SHOWS LIKE BARNEY THEY HAVE KIDS THAT ARE THE SAME AGE AS THE AGE GROUP IT WAS INTENDED FOR!!!!!!!! Younge children as well as adults DONT understand the real reason of Disney Channel movies!!!! All of Disney CHANNEL is for tweens and teens!!! Thats what Playhouse Disney is for, younge children!!!!! Camp Rock was NOT intended for little kids! if it was why are the actors have cds out for older kids and why do they talk about the movie and stars in tween and teen magazines? It IS NOT MORE FOR LITTLE KIDS!!!! IT WASN’T EVEN INTENDED FOR THEM!!!!! CAMP ROCK IS AN AWSOME MOVIE FOR TWEENS AND TEENS!!! NO ONE CARES IF YOU OR YOUR LITTLE KIDS LIKE IT BECAUSE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND IT!! SO THERE!

  26. I having a camp rock party for my four year old. Yes 4!! She loves to sing and when she saw this movie she fell in love with it. She knows the lines to every scene and the words to every song. I made concert ticket invitations. “CAMP FIRE JAM” I will have karaoke set up outside. I bought inflatable gitars and microphones. we’ll play some circle games too. For prizes I bought the soundtrack on Itunes and I’m burning cd’s for each child. And then we’ll have camp fire story time with smores. THE END. This party is geared for young kids. Barney and Elmo ended at 2 years old. I love the movie too and love singing. I think it will be a blast! :)

  27. I know this is totally a waste of my time, but hear I go…. I didn’t know there was an age limit on it. Have you been out in public lately? Young girls 3-5 are wearing HANNAH MONTANA, JONAS BROTHERS and CAMP ROCK. It’s all about what the child likes. They are all nice clean shows and are acceptible for all ages. Hope you have a nice party, I know I will.

Sounds like you need to watch Barneys episode on “MANNERS”.

  30. Hey ya’ll! Great ideas. I’m having a camp rock bday party and heres what we’re doing:

When the guests arrive we have a “check in table” and they all get camp wrist bands. Then we all divide into groups and have a scavenger hunt for things like:
    *A bird feather
    *An ant
*A twig shaped like any letter
etc. The first team to find all the items gets a prize. Then we have a water balloon fight. Next we divide into two teams, and pick a song from the camp rock soundtrack and make up a dance to it. Then one team performs it for the other. And then we play disney karaoke wii. Then we eat dinner, hotdogs and hambrgers, grapes, chips, etc. Then we will open presents. Next we will have cake while we watch the movie Camp Rock. Then we play ghost in the graveyard in the backyard, and my dad will come out of the forest in our backyard, dressed in black and scare all of us while we are playing. Then we will roast marshmellows/ make s’mores in the firepit. Then they’ll go home.

I think they’ll have a great time! Let me know what you think!

  31. I strongly disagree with the “its only for teens” statement.
My daughter is turning 8 in 3 weeks and shes very much into Camp rock. Shes soo over the High school musical and hannah montana phase. In todays world, kids are alot brighter than u think and even a child of 6 – 7 can understand the underlying message.
I am having a guitar cake made, will play the sound track and lata the movie with popcorn, I have a few games and will include a make-up parlor and making rock t-shirts with fabric paint
