Alice in Wonderland’s Mad Hatter Tea Party

images2Have you seen the news that Alice in Wonderland is coming to a theater near you this March? It’s Tim Burton’s version of this classic tale starring Johnny Depp as its very own Mad Hatter.  Check out the preview here. Always a timeless story for children of all ages.

The delightful Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter Tea Party is often a popular theme for a birthday party. If your daughter is interested in a tea party, but has to invite all of the boys in the classroom, a Mad Hatter tea party theme may work well.

Karate Kid Party

Karate Kid PartyJaden Smith comes to screen this summer with an The Karate Kid movie being released this June.  It should be a huge hit with school-aged children and, of course, karate lends itself to be of great interest to kids who often love to take karate classes and learn all about the world of karate. This summer with the movie release it will be a great time to plan a Karate Party.  What’s more?  This is a very easy party to plan as it can be held at a karate studio or,if you decide to have it at your home, hiring a karate instructor will make planning the activities a breeze.

One thing to keep in mind is safety.  Some kids whom you invite may not be familiar with karate or this type of sport.  So, having a licensed instructor and holding the party at a venue that is prepared in terms of safety considerations for all of your guests is definitely a must.

How to Train Your Dragon Movie Activities

How to Train Your Dragon Movie ActivitiesHow To Train Your Dragon is the upcoming release from DreamWorks this March.  It’s all about a Viking teenage, Hiccup, who must join his tribe’s heroic dragon slaying.  However, when Hiccup has his chance to slay his dragon, he instead befriends him and takes on the task of teaching his fellow Viking tribe that they shouldn’t be slaying the dragons any longer.  What a great movie to take the kids to over the spring break.  If you want to continue the fun before and/or after the film, how about creating your own Dragon Training School for the kids to enjoy and to celebrate the movie.

So, what does Dragon Training entail?  How about these ideas:

Tooth Fairy Movie Activities

Tooth Fairy Movie ActivitiesYou Can’t handle the tooth! That’s the infamous line from the newly released Tooth Fairy movie.  Starring Dwayne Johnson and Julie Andrews and a cast of others, this is the story of the meanest guy becoming a tooth fairy for an entire week.  There are some very funny ideas in here that kids are sure to love: cat away, shrinking paste, and invisible spray to name a few.  Recently, I hear Julie Andrews talking about this movie and she discusses the fact that it’s about encouraging kids to embrace their dreams.  It looks like a lot of fun, and certainly the tooth fairy is near and dear to all children as they lose their baby teeth and find money left by the tooth fairy under the pillow in the morning.

This would be a wonderful family movie to take the kids too, and it also can inspire some fun at home activities too.  Encourage your children to become a tooth fairy themselves! Read the rest of this entry »
