Lots O’Lego Fun

Building. Life is all about it! One of the best toy companies out there that helps kids use their imagination and fun tools to build is Lego! Lego has been around since 1932, and is the sixth largest manufacturer of kids’ toys. Impressive! All of us have played with Legos at some point, or at least watched other kids play with them.

You can build a really great theme around Legos for your next kids’ party. The official Lego site has a parents page, which can give you inspiration for activities to do with your kids at parties, and beyond! Check out their great Let’s Play and Imagination Builders sections.

G.I. Joe Party Ideas

duke-gi-joeG.I. Joe The Rise of the Cobra hits theaters this summer with another great toy-turned-movie story.  Do your kids love to play with G.I. Joe action figurines?  If school- aged children love the toys, the movie would make for a fun summer outing with some friends.  G.I. Joe would also make a great character to build a party theme around, especially if you set up an Army Training Camp with the birthday boy playing G.I. Joe and the party guests are his team members.

For your party invitation, purchase small clip compasses and using camouflage card stock, write your party details directly on the card.  Hole punch the card at the top right hand corner of your invitation and attach to the compass.  Hand-deliver your party invitations and request that your guests bring their compass to the party with them.

Hot Wheels Party

Does your child love to play with Hot Wheels cars? These classic toys are super popular and would make an excellent party theme!

For the Invitations:
For a fun invitation, make your own party card-sized checked flags. Use white card stock and black strips of paper, and add a stick to one end to make the flag look authentic. Write all of the party details in race language (such as, “Race on over to my party!”) on the back of the flag.
