cookie_monster_party_1Who doesn’t love Sesame Street?  Hostess With The Mostess showcases darling Cookie Monster Party ideas, which would be wonderful for a first birthday or toddler party.  The blue decor, the Cookie Monster cupcakes, and milk shooters are sure to please your crowd.  It also take a fun Milk and Cookies get-together to that next thematic level.

Looking for Cookie Monster party activities to match this adorable theme?

Play Guess How Many Cookies Are in the Jar?

Create a Cookie Hop.  Cut out large circles and decorate them to look like chocolate chip cookies.  Have the kids hop from cookie to cookie to Sesame Street music.  You can play this like Musical Chairs, or just as a hop.

Play Cookie Monster Says, like Simon Says.

Hold a Cookie Race.  Divide the kids into two teams and provide each team with a large spoon and a large cookie.  The children must race back and forth with the cookie on the spoon without dropping the cookie.

Play Cookie Toss.  Using a large piece of cardboard, create a Cookie Monster with a large mouth opening.  (Paint the cardboard blue and add google eyes and cut out a hole in the middle of his face.)  Use beanbags or small cardboard cookies for the kids to toss into the mouth.

Cookie Monster is great inspiration for a child’s party.  Me want cookies too!  Although most party stores don’t have exclusive Cookie Monster designs, Celebrate Express does have a nice selection of Sesame Street items.

Say It!
