Children who are between the ages of 6 to 10 years old may have a lot of fun enjoying a Cooking Party with their friends.

This can be a theme for a birthday party or just a theme for a party with your kids’ friends. If you think this would be fun, here are some ideas to get the party cooking:  FamilyFun.com's Apron Cake

Apron Cake (Familyfun.com)

Games for your Cooking Extravaganza can include:

Have a Spice Guessing Contest. Bring out 20 different spices and have samples out and have the kids decide which spice it is. You can give hints or a bank of answers for the kids to choose from.

Guess the Utensil Contest. Wrap up various kitchen utensils and have each kid choose one and guess what it is. If they don’t guess it correctly, the next kid gets to feel it and take a guess. The person who is correct can either keep the utensil as a prize or win an actual prize.

Other ideas for cooking:
Batches of cookies and cupcakes, ice cream sundaes for the sweet treats. If you choose to make pizzas or pasta, then while those are cooking the kids can decorate the cakes with frosting and sprinkles. It really seems to work well from a timing perspective.
You can also have a homemade pizza or taco bar.
Give the kids an apron and/or a chef’s hat when they arrive at the party to cook in. They can take these home as favors.

Other favors can include: cookie cuttters, rolling pins, recipe cards placed in a gingham towel to take home. They could also make placemats at the party that they could take home.
Cook’n up some fun will be a delicious way to celebrate the special day!

Also, there are some fun ideas for this theme at FamilyFun.com.  One is a cute game Blindfold the Cook, another is a great Apron Cake, and party favor ideas, too.
