This past weekend I traveled to Phoenix, AZ to throw the Best Kids’ Party in the USA. Amy and Scott Baker were the winners of the contest that Peppers and Pollywogs held earlier this year. Their son, Jack, turned one-year-old and the celebration included children of many different ages and parents and other adults alike! Given the party was in Arizona, even in December, you can throw a party outdoors, which provided extra space for the activities and kept the mess in the house to a minimum.
A big thank you to the sponsors who all contributed the amazing party supplies.
Here is Jack’s First Birthday Invitation sponsored by Mango Ink:
Of course, the first birthday party is best planned around the child’s nap…so Jack was in fine form!
Party Partners, Celebrate Express, and Birthday in a Box all provided party decorations and items for party activities. The Fun Fringe really spruced up the personalized Birthday Banner.
Don’t forget the balloons…we made our own archway! Use your wall outlines to make a balloon arch! Very festive.
The kids had four different tables to enjoy creative activities: card-making station, Play Dough station, Frame-making station, and decorate your own cupcakes! Having different stations for the kids provided fun for the multiple ages. Disposable cameras were added to each table and the kids were also able to snap pictures capturing the party fun. Older kids especially likes playing photographers.
Love the traffic cones to keep the tablecloths in place!
When the kids arrived at the party, they were offered a party hat and the opportunity to Pin the Candle on the Cupcake.
Of course, no first birthday would be complete without a perfect Smash Cake!
While Jack got this cake, the guests decorated their own Divvies Cupcakes and enjoyed a sweet treat of their own.
Amy wanted to make sure that the party menu was healthy, and so pretzel sticks, carrot sticks, celery with peanut butter and cream cheese, Jell-O jigglers, and sandwiches filled with PB&J and cream cheese and jam were all served. Don’t the cut-outs make the sandwiches look so festive?
A cupcake piñata was an additional activity that ended the party on a fun note. It was a pull-string piñata and safer for the kids. Each took a turn and it was the absolute last string that broke the piñata…full of bouncy balls, not candy.
The kids took home amazing felt tote bags filled to the brim of all sorts of stuff, i.e. small party hats, bouncy balls, Play Dough, coloring book, crayons, and more!
Hope you will enter to win next year!!
