I was just watching Dora’s Halloween with my two-year old niece last night. She is at that age where she doesn’t quite get the whole Halloween holiday, but she is noticing the orange twinkly lights on a tree in the neighbor’s yard and the pumpkins on the front porches … most yet to be carved. Her best “character” friend is Dora these days and so sitting down with the Dora’s Halloween Adventure with Dora, Boo, and Monster was quite fun and educational for her.

What exactly did she learn?
- How Dora dresses up as a Cat and Boo as a Fire Chicken, ie. those are the costumes they wear on Halloween.
- The idea of ringing a door bell, saying “Trick or Treat,” and receiving candy in return.
- Taking a ride across the moon on the good witch’s broom stick.
- A stroll though a pumpkin patch.
- Helping a monster return to his Monster parents before the clock strikes midnight.
- How to dance at a Halloween party in your costume.
For the littlest ones this Halloween, Dora has a lot to teach them. You could definitely have a Dora Halloween Party for your little ones too.
Have the kids dress in costumes, host a mock round of “Trick or Treat,” play pass the pumpkin, hand out brooms and have them take a ride on them, and dance to Dora Party Favorites! You can always play Dora’s Halloween DVD as well.
And if your little one wants to BE Dora (or Diego, for that matter) Celebrate Express has you covered!
If you check out Nick Jr. you will find instructions for the Dora’s Pumpkin Turkey craft. Check it out!
