Looking for ways to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle this Halloween season?  Kiwi Magazine has a great article showcasing easy Halloween crafts that make festive decorations out of toilet paper rolls, milk jugs, and egg cartons.  What a perfect way to not only share quality time with your kids, but also help the environment!

I also like the idea of reusing tin cans during the season.  One way to use them is as a round cookie cutter … a perfect pumpkin in the making!

Second, you can use these tin cans to create lanterns with them to light a path to your front doorway this season.  Here are the simple steps:

  1. Paint clean cans with a color and sponge a holiday decoration on the cans after they have dried.
  2. Fill your cans with water and freeze.  Use a small hammer and nails to make a pattern or design on the cans.  (The frozen water keeps the can intact during this step.)
  3. Set a tea light inside and a Halloween glow is cast.  Or if little ones are around, use a battery operated tea light instead.

Great Halloween craft ideas here!

  1. Love to see new ideas for reusing and recycling–especially for the holidays which can often turn into a time of over-consumption. Especially love your idea for lanterns to light the path–how innovative!
