Where it all began…
Our business started when I made a Big Sister tote for my daughter Ellie. It was for her to take to the hospital with her when her baby brother was born. My sister saw it and thought, “Hey, that’s a great idea.” She suggested we go into business together making children’s goods. We enlisted our mom and a year later we had three products – our reversible tutu, mini-messenger bag, and personalized cape. All of the items were inspired by our childhoods. Plus, I had spent six years out of college teaching children with autism how to play. So for me, it just seemed natural to start a business that focused on making things that kids could play with. But, the messenger bag in particular was inspired by my daughter. She wanted to have a bag just like the one daddy used when he rode his bike. Now my sister is pregnant with her first and so we are now an entire group of moms. Oh and I guess a grandma too.
Regarding Quality…
I think the tutus in particular are exceptional. There’s really nothing else like them on the market. You get the contrast of color, which is just so pretty, the waistband, which is all cotton, and the ability to flip it over and have a whole new color revealed. These features are unique to our tutus. All of our personalized capes are custom made-to-order as well. Personal care and attention goes into each one.
For Birthdays, Parties, & Beyond…
Oh boy. The possibilities are endless aren’t they? We always imagined the tutus would be fantastic for fairy princess parties, ballerina parties, or even just as an addition to make an outfit special for that special day. The capes are great for superhero parties (of course), but also for alphabet-themed parties or ones that center around the birthday child’s name. The best part is that once the party is over the kids can use the items everyday. Our items are designed to last.
