So, the Muggles have arrived and the party is getting underway…time for a crafty concoction to get the Potter fun started.
Here are ideas and resources for crafts to get the first class at Hogwarts’ School underway:
- Make Edible Magic Wands. Using thick pretzel sticks, have the kids dip the ends into melted chocolate and into sprinkles. Let them dry…they kids will enjoy these throughout the party so have extra on hand.
- Make Wizard Hats. Using a regular party hat, take pre-cut felt material and have the kids wrap it around the hat and attach with a glue gun. Have stars and moons also pre-cut out of felt material in a different color and have the kids attach them along the felt hat with masking tape. Colors to use: black, purple, blue for the background and yellow for the stars and moons.
- Shrinky Dink Fun.
- Make Magic Charm Bracelets with beads.
- Make Magical Creatures our of modeling clay
- Try Owl Origami.
- Wizard Brooms would be a great party take-away.
- Here are some interesting ideas from parents who have Potter Craft Ideas of their own.
I really like the Harry Potter Site for Muggle Librarians which provides very good ideas for setting up crafts via the various Hogwarts’ classrooms. Class crafts include: Divination, Herbology, Care of Magical Animals, Potions, etc.
Definitely worth checking out! Classes are coming to an end…games and riddles are sure to abound next…
