School-aged kids (7 and older) may love to dance, and not just any type of dance, but Hip Hop may be what they are really into. With shows like BRATZ as popular as they are today, your kid may very well ask for a hip hop party.

If you are interested in hiring an entertainer and holding your party at an outside venue, this is an excellent party plan — especially since it won’t require much further planning on your part.

The majority of the party will be taken up with dancing. This is a great party to host at either a dance studio or a gym for the kids to have plenty of room to dance the party away.

Also, a hip hop dance instructor or someone who understands how to do this type of dance would be ideal as the kids will be kept busy dancing with an entertainer who has expertise in dance, as well as keeping a group of kids organized while doing the activity.

The party can simply be taken up with the entertainer teaching dance, or you could expand it to also include a dance competition after the kids have learned some moves. Make sure to have music available. (Your entertainer will be able to provide this, most likely.)

You may also want to have a video recorder available to tape the competition. Later on, the kids can watch the fun. This would be a great party memory for your kid.

Serve a boom box cake after the entertainment is over.

For the goodies, send the kids home with burned CDs of hip hop music, wrist bands, head bands, and a neon notebook and pencil for the kids to use to capture their dance moves!

If you are looking for a fun party that doesn’t require much planning, suggest a hip hop, be bop, doo wop party plan this year!

  5. I haven’t been able to find any Hip Hop Harry decorations (it’s probably not popular enough to have that type of merchandise available) but this web site had a page dedicated to a HHH theme party that has plenty of good ideas.

If you don’t have a creative bone in your body, most scrapbook/stationary/invitation stores can help you especially with the invitations and such. As for plates, cups, etc. you’ll probably just have to get the Hip Hop Harry colors (red, yellow, blue and green) Also the website hiphopharry.com has some coloring sheets you may be able to print and color. Good luck!
