Holiday Crafts for Kids

The holidays are quickly approaching and for many parents, it can be a challenge to keep excitement at bay. Holiday crafts are a great way to keep the kids occupied yet involved in the holiday planning. Here are some holiday craft ideas for kids, courtesy of Celebrations.com.

Santa Stars

Supplies:

• Plain, wooden star ornaments
• Red paint
• White paint
• Black paint
• Paintbrushes
• Accents, such as googly eyes or fur trim

Directions:

1. Lay the ornaments flat. Designate one of the star’s points as Santa’s hat, two for arms and two for legs.
2. Paint the star accordingly.
3. Embellish with trim.

Homemade Gift Wrap

Supplies:

• Brown paper bags or butcher paper
• Sponges
• Green paint

Directions:

1. If using brown paper bags, cut along the folded edge and open the bags so they lay flat.
2. Cut a Christmas tree shape out of a sponge.
3. Pour green craft paint on to a paper plate.
4. Dip the sponge in green craft paint and stamp onto the paper.
5. Allow to dry completely (3-4 hours) before using to wrap gifts.
