Hotel Birthday PartyHotels may serve as a good overnight destination for a slumber party, especially if you don’t want your house all messed by a group of pre-teen boys and/or girls. If you decide to take a group of kids to a hotel overnight, it will be a thrill for kids age 9 to 14. This can be especially popular venue if your child wants a swimming party, and their birthday falls in the middle of winter!

And if this is not quite what you are looking for, never fear!  Check out our Big List of Birthday Party Ideas for more great kid party plans!

If you are going to use a hotel as an outside venue, make sure that the hotel understands there will be a birthday party of “x” amount of children, so they can give their OK. The hotel may also offer you a special price on adjoining rooms and/or rooms that have a kitchen for snacks and breakfast. I would limit the number of guests invited to five, plus the birthday kid. If there are four double beds, three of them are taken with two kids to a bed, and the fourth bed will be for the parent. So, it works out well to have a small number of guests attending the party.

Also, in the invitation, make it clear where the overnight slumber party will take place, and make sure to have all parents’ contact information readily available with you, at the party.

  2. Ok, so my party is in the beginning of February and I had a great idea for my party that I wanted to share. It’s like a dance-off thing. You bring a couple of CD’s and a portable radio and dance-off with your friends. Also some hotels let you play video games and I’m bringing the Wii and doing a tournament. It’s gonna be so much fun. Also, hotels are only like $50 and if you have like 5 people total food will only cost like 25 dollars per meal if you go to like Taco Bell or something and most hotels provide free breakfast so you only have to worry about dinner and maybe lunch. This is a great idea and you should try to convince your parents.

  6. hey, im 14 and i live in ohio and i an having my birthday at a hotel and the hotel is in a mall called easton and its a big outdoor mall and i am having 30 people cum over near 3 boys and girls and we are having a scavenger hunt in the mall then a nice dinner then maybe swimming then the boys are leaving and girls are sleeping over and we are decrating the room before the partry and my tip is not to plan every second of yr party that gets annoying for guests and so so just just stay loose and enjoy yr party too!

  13. I am having my birthday at a hotel and I want to have a small spa so do you have any ideas for what 5 12 year old girls could do for a spa that would be cheap?

  14. Hey, I had a hotel party last year and I would suggest to have the spa in the bathroom, and have a few go into the spa (bathroom)and eeryone else stay out of the bathroom and play minigames. Have one of your moms friends or your mom do the hair and nails and makeup, and after everyone gets done with that you can have somone take pictures of everyone and put it in a frame and that can be part of the goody bag. And that is most of my advice.

  15. In a couple of weeks i am having a hotel birthday party. I am planning to get a nice suite in the hotel and locate the hotel near entertainment. When everyone arrives we are going to go bowling, then we are going downtown to look at stores and things. After we are going out to eat at a mexican restaurant and the walk downtown again. After we are going to go swiming when we get back to the hotel. Later that night we are going to make t-shirts to wear on monday to skool. In order to transport everyone place to place my parents are renting a van or something. We are also going to have it cattered so theres food for people to eat all the time. Im inviting 7 people plus me and my mom but my mom gets her own room.

  17. I’m having a birthday party at a nice hotel in Chicago in a few weeks. It’s gonna be so much fun! I’m gonna have a pagent, decorate t-shirts, buy a bunch of candy and sweets and have a candy bufee, and some other stuff. Me and my girls are all obsessesd with Justin Bieber so I am also getting a stand-up of Justin Bieber so we can all take pictures with him. I think that your guests like to be a part of the party, so me and my girls are all going to decorate the room together. I am turning 12, and I’m having 5 girls, and I think thats a good amount.
