Let’s say you are having twenty 13-year-olds over for a pool party this holiday weekend. The party will go for around 5 hours and the majority of the time will be spent in the pool, of course. What about the other times when the kids are not swimming? How do you entertain them?

Pull this theme together using Sunny Days party supplies.

Here are some ideas:

A game you could play in or out the water, is “Pass the Water Balloon.” Fill a bunch of water balloons and have them toss them back and forth trying to not let them drop. If you fill enough, it will be loads of fun! Whoever drops a balloon is “out!” This can go on and on depending on the number balloons you fill.

Don’t forget Marco Polo while in the pool!

Make shell necklaces using clam shells.

Enjoy relay races in the pool…or outside the pool. You could divide the kids into two teams and then give the kids flippers, eye goggles, etc. and have them run to the other end and back, take the swim accessories off, and given them to the next kid to complete. Whoever completes the relay first, wins!

Kids this age will love to play volleyball or other outdoor sport games as well. Get a few games going!

Have them decorate cupcakes and/or ice cream sundaes as a sweet treat activity. Have it all set out with the fixin’s, like frosting and sprinkles or other sundae toppings. Kids will enjoy making their treats and eating them.

The majority of the time the kids will want to be in the pool, and if they are not there, then they may be eating or resting together. Don’t plan for too many extra activities, as they may just want to chill too!
