obamaplate350x255_rdax_65 This month we will watch the 44th President of the United States of America be inaugurated – and this will be witnessed by millions of people.  Perhaps your children have the day off from school or you find it is simply a day to do a special craft or activity to commemorate the day.

Check out Tech Savvy Mama who has an exceptional round-up of all things related to the upcoming Inauguration with a plethora of resources

Find a few more ideas here:

1. Make a Yes We Can! Can.  Suggest that your kids collect change for a favorite cause/charity.

2. Hold a Trivia Contest on Inauguration day and the new President of the USA.

3. Toast the day by making a festive Rocket Pop Drink.  Fill a tall glass with ice and pour cranberry juice, blue Kool-Aid, and 7-Up directly over the ice to make a rocket pop.

4. Watch the ceremony together and discuss what it means to you.

5. Ask your kids what messages they would like to send the new President.  Have them write these down and mail them off the next day.
