I am holding a party for my kid @ Chuck E. Cheese this year, and I am looking for ways to keep the costs down since we are on a tight budget. Any suggestions?
Often you can find coupons for hosting parties at such places, definitely call up the venue and look on-line for coupons for a good deal. Do not feel bad about asking for a deal as how these places get more parties is from the kids attending these parties, having a great time, and telling their parents that they want a party at that same place next time. The company now has even more party bookings. So, feel free to ask them for coupons and the best deal they can give you ~ they don’t want to lose your party business!
Other ways to reduce costs when hosting a party outside your home:
- Hold the party around a time that does not involve meals, then you will only need to provide cake and ice cream.
- Often places like Chuck E. Cheese provide kids with tokens in the party fee, these tokens will be used to purchase prizes by the kids. These prizes can certainly be used as the kids’ goody so you do not need to spend more on making up goody bags.
- Provide your own decorations, rather than picking the party package that provides balloons. It is very easy for you to purchase some streamers and balloons and put them around the party area.
Definitely know your party budget, and look for ways to reduce costs around timing of the party and doing those things (like decorations) that will take little time and money for you to do, but will be costly at the place.
Update: Fatwallet and Slickdeals have numerous coupons and codes like this one that may be relevant to you.
