Kung Fu Panda hits the movie theater on June 6th 2008! It looks like so much fun for the kids.
Celebrate Express is carrying the thematic Kung Fu Panda Party Supplies beginning May 9th. Pandas are so darling and make a great party theme for kids…add in the fun of Kung Fu…and you have a great party plan indeed!
Invite the kids to your Kung Fu Panda party by making Foil Gong Invitations. Cut out medium-sized cardboard circles and cover them with tin foil. On top of the foil, place another piece of circle paper with all of the party details on it. Hand-deliver your Foil Gong Invitations as a call to attend! Alternatively, purchase different colors of fabric at a thrift store to match the different colors of Karate belts. Cut the fabric into Karate belts and use a fabric marker to write the Kung Fu Panda Party details on. Roll the fabric up and tie with a string. What a great invitation! Request that the kids wear their belts to the party.
Decorations can include the thematic party supplies, or solid-colored party supplies to match the movie. Spread chocolate coins across the party table.
When the kids arrive provide them with a Karate headband to also wear during the party. Place temporary Panda tattoos on each guest.
The Activities can surround Karate:
Have the kids practice their karate moves and take turns sowing them off.
Who can kick the highest?
Use thin Balsa Wood Boards and have two adults hold the boards steady as the kids attempt to break them in to two. (Given the thinness of the boards, this should be fine for the kids to break!)
Set up a Kung Fu obstacle coarse that the kids must complete. Have them jump, crawl, run, and crawl through a series of items for fun.
Have a Chopsticks Race. Divide the kids into two different teams and provide each child with a set of chopsticks. Have the kids pass a series of foods to each other using the Chopsticks! They can pass crackers, fruit, mini chocolate, etc. The first team that completes passing the food without dropping wins! What a challenge.
Fill a large bowl with cooked noodles and hide different items within the noodles, a boiled egg, a grape, etc. and have the kids guess the food!
Serve a Panda Cake to top off this party.
Serve a Chinese Menu: Noodles, Fried Rice, Fortune Cookies, Egg Rolls…yum!
Send the kids home with individual Chinese take-away boxes filled with chopsticks, stickers, tattoos, and fortune cookies.
Say It!

Also in the Chinese take-out boxes I found Chinese yo-yos and Finger traps, also try your local Oriental Market for candies your kids love in chinese wrapping.
