Here are some fun ideas for a Ladybug party this spring and summer…

Ladybug Party:

For an activity, supply each guest with a bug catcher kit that has a net and a clear plastic bug holder. Release real ladybugs and have them try and catch as many as they can. The “goody bag” could be that they take their container of ladybugs home with them, and release them in their own backyards.

Print out interesting lady bug facts and tape a different one to each of the clear plastic containers for the children to learn something about the ladybug.

When you give out prizes, try and find things with ladybugs on it…note pads of paper, pencils, erasers, etc.

Use red and black paper supplies for your tablecloth, cups, plasticware, and plates.

For a centerpiece idea, buy small flower pots and one large flower pot. Have your birthday child and guests stamp their fingerprints on the pots with red paint and then have them paint the black dots onto the ladybug bodies. They can keep this as a goody item. Use the largepot as a centerpiece and make mini-dirt cups with gummy worms, etc inside. The children can eat these as a dessert.

Upon arrival, give the kids ladybug attire…given them an antenae headband…made out of a plastic headband, black pom poms and black pipe cleaners.

Play pin the spot on the ladybug!

Cut out 100s of black spots and write winner on just a few of the backs of some of the spots, tape them all around everywhere…indoors as they enter or all around the party table…toward the end of the party, have the children collect all of the spots…the ones who find the spot with “winner” written on the back wins a prize!

Have an excellent ladybug adventure with these ideas!
