It’s Little League season! Time for baseballs, bats, gloves, and action on the field! Perhaps your child loves the game and would like a Little League birthday party. If so, this party will be easy to organize and hold, given that it will, most likely, take place outside of your home at a local baseball field, and the main activity will be playing the game! It’s a perfect spring/summer party.
For your Little League party invitation, build on the theme by hand-delivering inexpensive baseballs to your guests with all of the party details written on them. Ask the kids to bring the balls with them to the party.
Alternatively, if your birthday child is on a baseball team or has a favorite team that he follows, create baseball pennant invitations using felt in that team’s colors. Glue card stock trimmed to the pennant’s size on one side of the felt, and write all of your party details on it. On the other side, write the team’s name.
This party will most likely take place at a baseball field where the kids can have fun playing the game. Dress up picnic tables around the field with Little League party supplies or tableware mixed and matched in your favorite team’s colors. To make the field look celebratory, tie colorful balloons at the various bases. Do not let the balloons interfere with the ball playing; have them as an outline of the field.
If you are looking for a one-stop shop for this theme, check out the Celebrate Express Little League Baseball deluxe pack.
An alternate pattern is available at Birthday in a Box. Check out the plates in the shape of a jersey. Love it!
Birthday in a Box also has great personalized items that fit this theme perfectly, like these zipper pulls.
Make sure to have extra baseball gear available for the kids so everyone can play, such as bats, balls, and gloves.
While you wait for everyone to arrive, have the kids do drills on the field to warm up.
Play ball!
When the game is over, or when you are ready for a break, make the meal easy for yourself. Have lunches pre-packed in lunch bags with the guest names’ written on them for easy distribution. Sandwiches cut out into round shapes with favorite fillings, granola bars, pieces of fruit, small boxes of crackers, etc., are good food ideas. Don’t forget the juice boxes too, and you may want to have a large jug of water for the kids to drink throughout the game.
Bake a batch of cupcakes and decorate them to look like baseballs.
Send the kids home with packs of baseball trading cards, chewing gum, caps with the kids’ names on them, and small trophies.
Make sure that all of the guests sign a special baseball for the birthday child to keep long after the party.
This is an easy party to pull together for an afternoon of fun. Book the field, pack the lunches, and head out to a birthday ball game!
