Is it appropriate to request specific gifts on a kids’ party invitations? I know what my kid wants this year, and I want to make sure that she gets those gifts, and not a bunch of stuff that she will never play with or use.
It would seem a good idea to put these gift suggestions directly in your invitation to ensure your child will receive presents that she will appreciate. Unfortunately, people may take offense at seeing such a direct suggestion on a party invitation.
A better idea is to make the suggestion when parents call to RSVP for the party. It will be very easy if you are asked, but you can also feel free to make the suggestion. It is best when you make these suggestions, to keep in mind a conservative party budget. Gifts that your child will appreciate that are inexpensive is the best thing to recommend to your party guests’ families. Gifts under $10 are appropriate.
