shutterstock_2971284Peter Rabbit is a classic tale beloved by parents and kids alike. It’s also the perfect theme for a young kid’s birthday.

You can use the pastel colors of the books as the colors for your party decorations: light blue and green balloons, streamers, etc. There are party stuff sites, like Birthday Express, that have Peter Rabbit partyware. You could also use the same solid pastel colors for tableware. If you have a Peter Rabbit stuffed animal, put him in the center of the table, and tie balloons to him for a festive touch. For more fun, spread foil-wrapped chocolate carrots around the table.

Make a garland of flowers for the front entrance of the party and a sign welcoming your guests to McGregor’s Garden. Make bee, flower, and veggie cutouts, and place them all over the party room.

For a goody, buy Peter Rabbit activity books or hard-covered books to send home with the kids. If you can find gummy vegetables at a candy store, these would also be fun to send home as an additional treat.

If older kids are attending:

Have a little Peter Rabbit treasure hunt in the backyard or party area where the kids can find an item with a treat hidden in or around it, such as a watering can or spade.

Enjoy a Mr. McGregor chase. If the weather is nice, have an adult helper chase all the little Peter Rabbits (aka, your party guests!) around. Don’t get caught!

Read the classic tale. Kids can act parts of the story as you read it together.

Play Pin the Tail on the Bunny.

And keep hopping along the bunny trail…

Say It!
