Puppetry Fun

Kids are often fascinated with puppets, be it puppet shows at a little theater, hand or finger puppets, or classic puppet tales, such as Pinocchio.

If your kid enjoys puppets, you may want to create a theme around them.

Here are some suggestions:

• Decorate the party room with all sorts of puppets and a puppet show stage.
• Use your kid’s favorite colors for the balloons, streamers and table ware. If you have one large, special puppet, place this puppet in the middle of the party table with balloons attached as a special centerpiece.
• As kids arrive, have a face painter paint a small puppet on the kids’ faces.
• Enjoy your own puppet show.
• Have kids play with the puppets from the show, and give them time to create their own show to put on during the party.
• Hire a Puppet Entertainer.
• Make Paper Bag Puppets. This craft is really easy for little ones. Give each kid a brown paper bag with crayons, markers, stickers, glitter glue, etc. and hove them make their own puppets
• What type of puppets will be at your party? If they are animal puppets, you can have the kids make animal sounds as you move the puppet’s mouth.
• If you have finger and/or sock puppets, the kids will enjoy these as well. Have them at each place setting or all around the party table for the kids to play with.
• Play Hot Puppet as you would Hot Potato.
• Musical Chairs to Marionette music.
