Looking to leave a snack out for Santa’s reindeer this Christmas Eve? If you want to do more than leave some carrot sticks out this year, try this Reindeer food recipe that is sure to please those hard-working reindeer:
Using a small baby food jar, layer oatmeal, colored sugar, white granulated sugar, then more colored sugar, and finish it off with a top layer of oatmeal. You could also simply combine all of these ingredients in a bowl and scoop into red and green zipper bags!
This is a great Christmas party activity or something to make and bring in to the classroom to give out as holiday gift to fellow classmates…as long as the school allows it! Otherwise, make up a batch and leave it for Santa!
Looking for some reindeer food for the kids to enjoy too? Try this super easy and yummy recipe:
You will need:
- 12 cups Crispix cereal
- 1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate or butterscotch chips
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
In a pot over low heat, melt peanut butter and chocolate chips, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and add cereal, stirring gently to coat well. Add the powdered sugar, and continue stirring until mixture is completely combined.
Spread pieces on a cookie sheet separating them so they don’t stick together. Allow to cool completely.
