Well, it’s the last couple of days summer. Yes, officially speaking, summer is still with us!
I don’t know about you, but it flew by to me … especially since my DH ended up taking sailing lessons this summer.
Well, living in Seattle, and surrounded by gorgeous lakes, sailing seems to be a natural hobby to take up and, literally, to sail the summer away.
The weather is beginning to turn and the boats may be soon docking, and so if you want to celebrate summer’s final swan song, why not bake a Sailing Cake? Betty Crocker has a great recipe to try. I may even bake it to celebrate the newest sailor in our family!
How about some Island Getaway Cupcakes? Wilton has a wonderful recipe for this cupcake, and the little sailboat atop each one is too cute. Certainly is a reminder of those carefree summer days! Ahoy, Matey, let’s bid a fond farewell to sweet old summer!
