I recently was sent a question regarding one birthday party for several kids. The moms all know one another, but the kids attend different play groups and day cares. So, the guests being invited to this joint party will only know one of the birthday kids.
Do you let parents know on the invitation that the guests should only bring a gift for the birthday child he or she knows? If so, what is some good language to use?
Definitely make it clear in your invitations that only one present is expected for the birthday child that the guest knows.
You can use simple language on your invitation – such as, “Please bring only one birthday present for the birthday child that you know.” This clearly spells out your expectations to parents regarding presents. Joint birthday parties can be tricky for your guests regarding presents; so making it clear on the invitation is the best solution!
Happy Joint Party!
