Recently I noticed that a parent was doing a first birthday party with the theme of a Tiffany’s Store. That was quite interesting, and I thought there are probably many stores from which you can take your inspiration for a party theme. It could be a destination place like Tiffany’s and this is especially good if you are looking to enjoy a more formal party with your guests.

Let’s look at some other stores that you could model a party theme on :

Seems obvious, but The Disney Store.
Gymboree ~ I would expect a lot of primary colors and jungle gym activities.
National Geographic or Nature Store ~ it could be a day hike or have more of an “outdoors” educational bent to the party.
Pottery Barn for Kids ~ spoof the name and make it an arts & crafts party.
A favorite bakery, in Seattle we have a place called Cupcake Royale ~ you could definitely expect to be baking at this party.
Model it on a bookstore, Barnes & Noble for Kids ~ decorate with all of our favorite book covers and have the children make their own books. Perhaps one of the kids’ favorite characters would make a visit, i.e. Clifford the Big Red Dog.

Yes, inspiration for your kids’ party theme can come from many places…even where you shop all of the time or just love a particular store!
