So, your kid is just about to become an adult…the big 18! Everyone wants a special birthday bash to celebrate this milestone…the oddity is that your kid is now an adult and it may be difficult to find ideas for a party that is fun and not too childish! Some simple themes/ideas that may just work:
Have a Walk Down Birthday Party Memory Lane…place pictures of your kid from all of his childhood days as a decoration, have guests sign a large “Happy 18th Birthday” poster with a special message. Then have a traditional old fashioned birthday party from days long ago with the old fashioned games, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Musical Chairs, etc. Have guests bring gag gifts for a laugh. It’s a last chance to be a kid…live it up!
If it is still warm outside, enjoy a big water balloon bash. Everyone will love the fun…better if there is a pool around as well.
A Reality TV Show, spoofed for the big 18, would also be an excellent idea…something along the lines of the Amazing Race or Fear Factor would be loads of fun.
Rent out a party hall, and have a dance with all of the friends. Hire a DJ or friends to spin the tunes…supply pizza, soda, and cake…and live it up. Hanging a Disco Ball would add to the jiv’n fun.
Do something special with the birthday kid and a few of his friends…an overnight Hotel Party…swimming, spending time in a hot tub, ordering room service…very cool way to enter adulthood!
