My niece is about to turn 2 in early October. My sister-in-law asked me for some ideas for a fun party for the big #2! Often, this birthday can be overlooked a bit. This happens for a couple of a reasons, first off it follows the very big first birthday celebration and, second, two year olds are definitely out of the “baby” stage, but they aren’t quite pre-school stage yet. They are toddlers, and so if you are planning a two-year old party, one of the BEST ideas that works well for this age group is MUSIC!

This is the perfect party to hire a musical entertainer, one who brings a bag of fun instruments, gets down to the toddler’s level, plays music, and sings. It will keep the kids entertained and very engaged. If your budget doesn’t allow for hiring an entertainer, you could still build your own party around music, having them color pictures of musical instruments, playing musical chairs, and giving out small instruments, such as Kazoos and tamborines, and having the kids make beautiful music together. It really is one of the very best themes for the age.

Remember, for 2 year olds, an hour or an hour and 15 minutes is plenty of time for the party.

Skip to the beat with your toddler…music is the way to go!
