What’s a perfectly easy, fun, and budget-friendly toddler to 4-year-old party theme? A messy party! Kids love to make a mess, so why not give in and make a whole party out of it! If this idea appeals, let’s get down to the nitty gritty and bring it alive:
For the invitations, use heavy card stock and paint or a stamp pad. Have your child make hand prints all over the card, add all of the party details, and invite the kids to get ready to make a mess!
Definitely buy balloons and streamers, but make a mess out of them—hang them all over the party area in no set pattern.
This would be a very good party to have outdoors where clean-up will not be a problem. Set up three or four mini tables in your backyard where the kids can enjoy making a mess.
Have them paint pictures with chocolate. Yummy!
Place bowls of frosting, sprinkles, and candy decorations out on one table along with pre-made sugar cookies, and let the kids decorate them.
On another table, set out paint, roller brushes, and butcher paper for the kids to make fantastic creations with.
Put Play-Doh and modeling clay on another table where the kids will have another opportunity to make messy creations.
Have a bunch of stamps and water-soluble ink out, and have the kids stamp their arms and legs all over!
Place a pile of dirt in one area of the yard, and have the kids make dirt creations using twigs, rocks, and other natural elements.
Make a traditional round cake, ice it with vanilla frosting, and then drizzle different colors of frosting all over. Scatter candy on top for an added messy bonus.
Send the kids home with their chocolate pictures, Play-Doh creations, and a cellophane bag full of frosted cookies (ones that you made before the party that look pretty and yummy!)
