Timing is everything when you are giving your kid a great party
Parties are a fabulous way to celebrate your child. Plan your child’s party for the appropriate time of day and right amount of time so that your child and their friends enjoy it.
You can have a party for your child at any age, but keep the following time of day and time-frame in mind as you plan your party:
Ages 1-2: After a good nap, for one hour. Often, I see these parties done during the late morning.
Ages 3-5: Early afternoon, over lunch, for no more than 90 minutes.
Ages 6-8: Afternoon, could be over lunch, but also a late afternoon nap. Two hours cap, unless doing an overnight slumber party!
Ages 9-10: Afternoon into evening, two hours, perhaps another 30 minutes of planned activities. At this age, the kids may just want open time as well, and so parties can go even longer.
Slumber parties are also popular with older kids.
Remember, you want your kids well-rested to be able to enjoy the party fully. Also, you want to make it long enough without being too long so that you or your party guests aren’t stressed out!
It seems that party timing is quite important!
