The Twilight series of books by Stephanie Meyer is quickly emerging as a phenomenon among tweens and teens. The first installment hit the big screen in November 2008—and now you can get the Twilight DVD! Now, the Twilight saga continues with the second movie in the series being released on November 20, 2009. Again, it’s a perfect time for a New Moon party!

Twilight is the story of Bella and Edward that unfolds in Forks, Washington. It’s an unusual relationship in that Bella is human and Edward is a vampire. At once they are attracted to to one another, and Edward also is interested in her scent … perhaps even how she tastes. The Twilight series is full of intrigue. If you haven’t already, check out Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)
Given that Halloween is almost upon us, Twilight would make a great theme for several parties: a book party, a birthday party, and/or a Halloween bash.
So how can you create a perfect Twilight party? Find inspiration with the ideas below!
For your invitations, purchase plastic vampire teeth—readily available during the Halloween season—and cut heavy black card stock down to invitation size. Fold the paper over to form an invitation card. On the front, write “Bella and Edward invite you to…” in chalk, and provide all of your Twilight party details inside. Hole-punch the card and attach the vampire teeth with a white ribbon. Hand-deliver or mail your invitations to your guests. Make sure to ask them to wear their teeth to your party. You may also ask your guests to dress up as their favorite Twilight character, too.
A good time to hold this party is dusk moving into night … the time when vampires come out to play!
Decorate your party area with black and red balloons, streamers, and tableware.
Plastic vampire teeth would make great napkin rings. Hopefully, it will be raining to give the feel of Forks. Place a sign on the front door, stating “Forks, Washington” for authenticity. Make sure to place bright red apples throughout the party area. If you can find Twilight movie posters
Place placards around the party area with your favorite Twilight quotes. As an example, “Oh, I’m with the Vampires, of course.”—Bella Swan. Alternatively, have your guests create their own placards with their favorite quotes to take home with them.
For your Twilight activities:
- Play Twilight Jeopardy
- Read favorite excerpts from the book
- Edward can run fast. As dusk falls, provide flashlights and have races to see who can keep up with Edward’s speed. Set up races or a game of flashlight tag for fun.
- Make Twilight bracelets using glow in the dark string and charms.
- Alice Cullen is super hyper … how does she get this way? See who can become Alice Cullen by holding a food-eating contest. Serve candy bars and ice cream. How much will it take for you to get hyped?
- Have a vampire taste-test. Put out all sorts of red foods and see if your guests can guess what they are. Ideas include red hots, red icing, ketchup, chilis (these are hot … watch out!), red bell peppers, French salad dressing, etc. Make sure to blindfold your guests to make it more difficult.
- Vampires are (often) ice cold. Have your guests go bobbing for apples in ice-cold water. See who captures an apple!
- Act out a favorite scene from the book. Make sure all of the Twilight characters are covered, but instead of playing the scene out as the book does, create your own ending—it will be a surprise as it unfolds! The only rule: it can’t turn out as it does in the book.
- How about Jacob the werewolf? Have about a howling contest! Who can do it best? Give out prizes for most original, loudest, and oddest howl.
- A great prize would be a copy of one of the books. It would be a splurge, but great fun!
Keep with a Halloween theme for your party menu:
Serve these snacks with creepy names:
1. Baked skeleton bones (pretzel sticks)
2. Bat brains (popcorn)
3. Bloated ants (raisins)
4. Boiled lady bugs (red jelly beans)
5. Braised beetles (Milk Duds)
6. Candied spider eggs (gum drops)
7. Cheesy owl eyes (puffed cheese balls)
8. Chocolate-dipped houseflies (chocolate-covered raisins)
9. Compressed cobwebs (Chex or similar cereal)
10. Crumbled bat wings (blue corn chips)
11. Deep-fried fingernails (Bugles snacks)
12. Dehydrated dragon’s wings (Doritos)
13. Dirty shoelaces (black shoestring licorice)
14. Dried seaweed (chow mein noodles)
15. Earthworm knots (miniature pretzel twists)
16. Flattened slugs (corn chips)
17. Freeze-dried drops of blood (Red Hot candies)
18. Ghost guts (mini marshmallow)
19. Goblin’s belly button lint balls (M&M’s, any style)
20. Plops of pigeon poop (yogurt-covered raisins)
21. Rat claws (shelled sunflower seeds)
22. Roasted snack eyes (peanuts)
23. Shredded lizard gizzards (coconut)
24. Splintered turkey bones (shoestrings potato chips)
25. Toasted cat’s eyes (blanched almonds)
26. Vulture toenails (candy corn)
27. Witches’ warts (chocolate chips)
Don’t forget the blood red punch with creepy ice cubes. Place gummy worms in the cubes before freezing.
Make your own pizzas at this party using red ingredients: pepperoni, red peppers, red pepper flakes, etc.
For a party favor, hand out vampire-repelling garlic mints to keep your guests safe as they depart for home!
How about a gift bag of goodies representing each of the characters?
Make fabulous bags with items in it representing each character. Have your guests guess which character goes with what.

- Red finger nail polish
- Vampire teeth
- Tennis ball
- Belle perfume

Group red, black, & white candles at different heights on table
Black tablecloths on main food table

Get black light bulbs for some of the lights to darken the room
Fog machine (renting is cheaper)
Black, silver, and deep red balloons in groups of 3 or 5
Disco ball ( like Alice Cullen’s party in new moon)

Blood punch (kool aid, or fruit punch) in plastic punch bowl or rent a juice fountain

Wild Mushroom stuffed raviolis and coke ( bella’s meal book 2)

you could take roses and dry them out. then put them in small bouqets tied with red ribbon.
Also you can put a new twist on jeopardy and do it as teams instead of individuals. ex. team edward aginst team jacob or team bella.
I’m having a party on March 21st.
As guests walk through the door, someone will place a “HELLO MY NAME IS…” sticker on each person’s back. On the sticker there will be the name of a Twilight character. Each person must mingle with other guests in order to figure out which character they are. Once they’ve figured it out they receive a party favor. So far, my party favors include: Vampire teeth, red lollipops, and sweethearts candy (You can buy Twilight themed sweethearts. I got mine from FYE. I’ve also seen them available online, but I forgot the website.) Also, I’ve seen a recipe for “Wolf kibble”. It’s very similar to Chex muddy buddies and looks very much like dog food. You just add either cocoa puffs or peanut butter crunch or both to the muddy buddies recipe.

our party is going to be in our basement and we are going to put black garbage bags taped on the stairwell and make it dark. We are going to have the books out and have lots of food. When guest arrive we are going to put name tags on their back with a twilight character on it they have to talk to other people and ask yes or no questians about the person they are.
We are going to make a sign that says “people to change into vamires tonight” and have all the guests name on there and sign it “love Edward”

or you could play a game where you have a list of twilight themed stuff you have to get and then you have to go around your street ringing on peoples doorbells and asking if they have one of those itema but only one per house
you could also get black and red table clothes and hang them up around the party room

I am hosting a Twilight bday party for my daughter. Love the ideas on here. We are having a campfire … Placing tiki torches around the campfire, hanging white xmas lights from them (stringing in between) and wrapping them in red chiffon. Just thought I would add another idea.

Hey, for a great party, use a fog machiene since it is always rainy in forks. Dont go to overboard with a vampire theme because this is a love story. Hawian punch and gingeralle make a perfect blood.make sure you have ideas that go along with all of the books. Use apples for a dessert to represent the forbidden fruit in twilight. Have parrot tulips to represent new moon, ribbon to represent eclipse and red and black chess boards for breaking dawn. Scarlet red, black, white are good colors to use for a twilight party, if you are decorating a room to look like forks, go ahead and use green. If you want a twilight party, invite people who have at least read the book so no one is confused. Since EDWARD comes out at night, play games in the dark,and maybee even a game of base ball in the rain. Since it is always raining in forks, have your party on a day it is raining.(this will make the party extra fun) Tonight I am going to an end of the year party and the theme is twilight.Trivia is always a fun game for a twilight party.And dont forget, EDWARD never sleeeps, so at a twilight party, never go to sleep or Victoria might pay you a visit.

I’m holding a Twilight party at the library that I work at and some of these ideas are great.
I was thinking that since we have a fireplace that it might be cool to have that lit while we are having the party, it’ll throw some strange shadows all over the place making it look like we are being surrounded by the Cullen family to make sure that no stray Vampires attack us.
I was also thinking of making bookmarks of all of the characters(one of each so there would end up being 9 or 10) and having a quote from the books that they have said, but make it one that isn’t that popular.

You could get fortune cookies and replace the fortunes with quotes from the books. Just search google for Twilight Quotes. There will be this awesome website devoted entirely to Twilight Quotes.

If you live by a forest you could find a place that looks like Edward’s grove and give a map to everyone and have them look for it. In the grove have a standup as Edward with the party favors surrounding his feet.
My friend get REALLY hyper so we’re going to have the Alice hyper contest. Also we’re going to see who can stay up the latest and if we get tired we will go bobbing for apples in ice cold tubs of water!!!
We are going to stick forks into people’s yards. And we are gonna have a vanity and give everyone makeovers to make them look vampireish. (white blush dark makeup and black eyeshadow around their eyes.
For breakfast we will have Wolf Kibble and milk. (cocoa puff cereal.)
I’m going to have bella’s meal (Wild mushroom stuffed ravioli and Coke.) But some of my friends can’t have that so I’m going to also give away red cherry kool-aid.
Everyone is going to dress up as a twilight saga character or twilight themed clothes.
We’re gonna paint our nail white red and black. And play ghosts in the graveyard but vampires and werewolves and play baseball with apples.
I’m going to put red black and white streamers and balloons. I’m going to have a fog machine, red white and black candles on the ticnic table along with a black table cloth and red rose petals, at the end of my long driveway we have a river rock with my last name carved on it so im gonna gover it up with a posterboard that says Forks Washington.
