At my one-year-old’s party this year, all of the guests will be adults. How can I entertain them and still keep it kid-focused?

Often times you find that the first birthday party only includes adults. Mainly, the adults will be interested in wishing your child well, eating good food, and catching up with one another, so don’t stress too much about keeping them entertained A few activities that you can include to keep the adults focused on the fact that they are attending a kid’s party include:

  1. Put together a slide show set to music capturing your child’s first year to show during the party.
  2. Put together a trivia game that relates to your child so that everyone learns a few things about his first year of life.
  3. Have the guests bring an item for a Time Capsule. During the party, make a ceremony of the adults placing the items into the capsule for a future keepsake. Have them describe what they have brought and why.
  4. Play a series of classic kids’ party games just for the fun of it. Adults will love to step down memory lane as they break a Pinata, Pin the Tail on the Donkey, and enjoy a round of Musical Chairs.
  5. Send home a favor that revolves around your child. A small framed picture of your kid would be fun.

These are a few ways to focus your party around your one-year-old. Make sure to not over-do it, however. Mainly, the adults will enjoy getting together and catching up with friends.
