At my kids’ parties, I notice that the birthday guests start fighting when the kids gather around the party table to take their seats. Everyone wants to sit next to my birthday kid. Even after it is resolved, there seems to be hurt feelings. How can I avoid this scene at future parties?
Well, it is the birthday kid’s party and so he is the special one! It is natural for all of the guests to want to be seated closest to the birthday kid, as that is where much of the action will be! One easy way to avoid this type of situation from breaking out is to make up place cards for each guest and have them already set at their place settings. When the kids go to the party table instead of arguing to see who will sit next to the birthday guest, they will be busy finding their names and taking their places!
One tip: make sure to ask your own birthday kid whom he would like to have seated next to him and place those guests next to him.
