For a small kids’ party, who is appropriate to invite? Is family enough or should there always be some kids the same age is the birthday kid?
For kids three and under, it really depends more or less on the parents. At this age they are still young enough to not really need and/or know to have a bunch of their friends there. A small, family birthday celebration will be perfectly acceptable. It’s when your kid has friends and knows that she wants X and Y friend to come to her party that you probably need to begin to include her friends.
Many three year olds are in day care and preschool and so they may be already be asking for their friends to celebrate at their birthday party, so you may find that some young kids’ parties are, in fact, big bashes with lots of friends. It really just depends on the kids’ circumstance to see if they have a group of friends or not.
You will definitely know when it is time to have friends over for the birthday party as they will definitely let you know!
What do you think?
