My son will be nine this fall and since he out-grew Thomas the Tank Engine at 5, we have had a baseball theme every year. This year we decided to have a big wiffle ball game in the park near our house. Instead of party bags and pinatas, I have decided to make t-shirts with a 9th birthday logo on the front and each of the kids’ name on the back. I have designed a logo with Clip Art that I will use to print your own iron on transfer for it. The “tag” for the shirt will include all the party particulars. This way they can wear it to the party and we don’t have to worry about people changing or stray clothes.

Here are the supplies:
One box of iron on transfers, about $14.00 at an office supply store.
Hanes cotton tee shirt (6 in a bag), $5.97 at Walmart.

Design a simple logo. Ours says, “Tim’s Fall Wiffle Ball Classic” with a ball and two bats crossed over it (Clip Art)
Then, for their names, simply type the names in a bold thick font (many will fit on one page).

TIP: Wash the shirt without fabric softener for the best transfer.
Then iron on logos and names to each shirt. (this will be the most time consuming part, but should not take too long!)

And there you have it all-in-one: invitations / team shirts / party favors!

  1. I love this idea!

I am going to do it for my son’s 5th birthday. Any ideas for a cute saying I could put on the shirt?
