Yo-Yo Antics

The Yo-Yo is such fun! Even as an adult, I find it relaxing to play with a Yo-Yo! It’s history is one of the oldest as far as toys are concerned. For kids aged 8 years old and up, a fun activity at a kid’s party is to play with the Yo-Yo. When the kids arrive, hand out different types of Yo-Yos and these can also be the party favors that the guests take home with them.

1. There are lots of tricks that the kids can play with the Yo-Yo, including Walk The Dog and Around the World. For more beginner games with videos that actually show how to do the trick, check out Begin2Spin.
2. Have a contest where the kids play with their Yo-Yo to music. The kid who can use the Yo-Yo the longest without being interrupted WINS!

4. Have a series of relay races where the kids must Yo-Yo from one end of the race and back again without stopping. If something interrupts them, they must begin again. The first team to have everyone do this WINS!
5. Make round sugar cookies and decorate to look like Yo-Yos for a treat!
