Quick Holiday Decorations - At Home and For
Your Party
When I was a kid, it was a great time to
get out all of the familiar tree
ornaments, decorative wreaths and
greenery, sparkly lights, and the
plastic Santa that stood up proudly in
our yard. It was magical, and I
certainly wanted to be involved in
decorating.
If you are looking for quick and easy
ways to decorate your home
and include your kids,
check out the list below:
- Snowflakes - Add a
touch of winter to your party by
attaching snowflakes to the walls and
ceiling of the party area.
- Use any holiday decorations
that you own to decorate the room.
Involve the kids in getting them out and
placing them around the house.

From Our Sponsor - Holiday Party Planning Guide
Are
you wishing for an easy way to create special
memories for your family during this holiday season?
Try some of these ideas for a festive holiday party
your children will love, or check out the complete
Holiday Party Guide at Birthday in a Box.
Decorating
Use any holiday decorations you already own to
decorate your party space. Hang some jingle bells
over a doorknob so they ring each time the door is
opened. Place candy canes over the arms of a
chandelier light fixture, and let your children cut
snowflake designs from white paper and hang them
from the ceiling. Use plates, cups and other party
supplies featuring a
holiday pattern.
Food
Serve star-shaped cheese pieces with crackers,
bite-sized vegetables, and dip. Fill a jar with
candy canes with the top curve hanging over the
edge, and tie a red ribbon around the middle of the
jar. Large marshmallows or donut holes rolled in
powdered sugar can become "Snowballs". Serve crispy
rice treats cut in holiday shapes using cookie
cutters. Include a plate of Christmas cookies, of
course!
Party Activities
Snowmen Munchies - This is both a
craft and a treat! Provide the children with
marshmallow snowmen and decorations, and let them
build their own snacks! Stack two or three large
marshmallows to make a snowman, using a toothpick to
hold the marshmallows together. Set out bowls of
pretzel sticks for the arms, raisins cut in half for
the buttons, candy corn for the noses, and mini
chocolate chips for eyes. Cut strips of licorice
string to tie around each snowman's head as the
scarf! If necessary, use icing to "glue" on the
decorations. Visit Birthday in a Box for more fun
and easy
holiday games and activities!
