Ten Tips for Planning Summer Parties
It's summer, and that means it's time for some fun in the sun. Summer is such an easy season for a kid's party for several reasons: good weather means you can take the fun outdoors, and summer vacations and school being out means there is less pressure to invite absolutely everyone.
Keep the following important tips in mind when planning your summer parties:

1. Feel free to limit your guest list.
It's a great season to not invite everyone because everyone won't be around. Invite the number of guests that works best for your time and budget, and then send the invitations to those who are in town.

Father's Day Celebration
Father's Day celebration
June is a special time for Dad! Father's Day falls mid-month and is a celebration of all he does for the family. Typically, it is a day to let him have some time on his own to sit in a hammock while sipping a cool drink with nothing to do. That's a great way to celebrate, but your kids may want to do something more active to show their appreciation. If you are looking for some fun ways your kids can celebrate Dad, check out these simple ideas for a grand day.

1. Serve Dad breakfast in bed. Usually Mom gets this royal treatment, but turn the tables and make him all his favorite breakfast foods. Don't forget the Sunday paper and comics-the kids can read these with him.

Camp Out
Camp Out
A good summer party idea is a camp out! This theme works especially well with children between the ages of 8 and 12 and, of course, when it's warm outside!
Here are some fun activities to pass the time:

1. Enjoy a proper cookout, and end the evening with s'mores.
2. Have a water balloon fight.
3. Tell scary ghost stories before going to bed. Have the storyteller hold a flashlight.
4. Play flashlight tag.

Bubble Fun
Bubble Fun
"Bubbles" is a wonderful theme for a small child's second or third birthday party. It's also a great theme for summer, but may not be ideal for an indoor party during colder months for obvious reasons.
Here are a few ideas:

Send a bubble art invitation: Experiment with some different bubble solutions, then print out your invitations and blow various colored bubbles right onto the paper. They will land and pop on the invite, and then it will be a work of bubble art.
Have a bubble machine blowing large bubbles at the front entrance of your house that the guests enter through. This will kick off your theme nicely.

Are Permits Necessary for Parties in the Park?
Parties in the Park
Of course, this depends on the park and the community guidelines that cover whether or not you need a permit. Before you begin to plan your perfect party in the park this spring and summer, make sure to call your parks and services board and ask if a permit is needed. Even if you do not need an official permit, you may need to let some authority know about your party.
