St. Patrick's Day Treasure Hunt Clues

Do you want your kids to find their own pot of gold at the end of the rainbow this St. Patrick's Day? Send them on a treasure hunt looking for all of those things that are truly Irish:

Blarney Stone: Kiss me and maybe you'll be as lucky as we!

Shamrock: Small, lush, four-leaf, and green, pick me and make a wish for your favorite team.

Pot of Gold: If you follow the rainbow, I'm what you'll find, making you rich in mind.

Rainbow: In the midst of light rain, with sun shining through, I'll make beautiful colors true.

Windy March

At least in the northern hemisphere, March marks the month when the clocks move forward, buds begin to appear on the trees, and the days are longer. At the same time, it is a transitional month; on any given day you could have sun and warmth, or snow and cold. Regardless of the temperature, March is often full of windy days. If your kid was born in March, perhaps you would like to have a party focused on our friend the wind!

For decorations, use any colors that you like. Blues, pearly whites, and light greens are good wind and March colors to use. You can purchase balloons, streamers, and tableware in these colors. Place a bouquet of pinwheels in the center of the table.

Fun With Shamrocks!

It is that time of year when shamrocks are all the rage. Whether you are wearing a shamrock pin, wishing on a four-leaf clover, or spreading the luck of the Irisharound to your family and friends, chances are shamrocks are around. This month, kids will enjoy making, baking, and creating shamrock concoctions.

Kite Flying Ideas

Kite flying is often a fun activity for a summer party. Some kids enjoy flying kites so much, they want their birthday party to center around them!

If you are planning a kite-flying party, you will most likely host it at an outside venue, such as a park, with enough room to fly the kites. In the case of decorations, the kites will be the main ones. You can also buy bright rolls of string to tie the kites to. The kids can do this as an activity at the party before spending the majority of the time flying their kites. Let's hope you have good wind on that day, too!

Have your birthday kid choose two to three of his favorite colors, and purchase balloons in those colors. Blow them up, bunch them in threes, and weigh them down. The balloons will mark off the party area in the park.!

Party theme:Party Wacky Backwards (IDEAS)

Kids who are a bit zany and within the age range of 7 to 10 will love the idea of a Backwards Bash! This is a really unique party that can be done on a small budget. Even though it does not require a great deal of money, it is likely to be a favorite as it is so wacky and fun!

Although this party seems easy, it may require more thought than the normal "forward" party planning you would normally do. Don't be surprised if you find you are thinking about this mixed-up theme a lot. Still, here are some ideas to get you started!

Send out thank you cards for the invitations. Or, on a regular invitation, use mirror image so the wording appears backwards. Ask everyone to wear their clothes backwards and/or inside out.
Greet everyone with, "Goodbye! Thanks very much!"
