Looking to hold a thematic treasure hunt this Thanksgiving for your kids?  Here are clues to get the Turkey Hunt going:
Pumpkin Pie: Orange and Spicy, with a dollop of whip, I sure am yummy!
Turkey: Stuffed and Roasted, I crown your table where I am toasted!

Thanksgiving Cooking With the Kids

There are many kids who are little chefs in disguise... even if they aren't, come Thanksgiving, when everyone is in the kitchen, the kids will appreciate helping you out!  It's a great way to get them involved in the excitement of the big meal.  Kids will appreciate contributing in any way that they can.  A few points to keep in mind when thinking about some tasks they can do include both the kid's age and the amount of time a task takes to do.  Make sure that the kitchen fun is age-appropriate, i.e kids should not be using knives or other sharp objects preparing food, as well as these types of objects should be out of reach so no accidents take place either.  Also, remember that kids' will not want to be in the kitchen the whole day, as there are parades to watch, the football to throw, perhaps a turkey craft to do.  So, keep their time in the kitchen limited to keep them excited, but not bored and restless.

Colonial Games and Treats

In keeping with the President's Day theme, if you are looking for some Colonial game and treats to serve at your presidential celebration, check out the ideas below. These will also work very well if your kid loves colonial history and you would like to throw a unique party based on these day of old

Five Tips To Keep Kids Happy During the Holiday Meal

1. Fun Drinks. Set out special colored glasses or cups, perhaps plastic would work well, and outfit with fun straws, umbrellas, fruit, and ice cubes with holiday gummies frozen inside.  The kids will be delighted with the fun drinks.

2. Crayons. Place holiday colored crayons on the table with plain white napkins at the kids' place settings.  Ask the kids to draw their favorite holiday scene on their napkins (or for real fun, these cups) for added decoration.
