Seven Tips for A Successful Halloween Party
jack o' lantern
Weeks before Halloween, people already have their spooky decorations up in their yards, whispers are wafting through the air regarding what they are going to be for Halloween, and people are scaring up some great Halloween party ideas.

Halloween parties are often a time for family fun, and are not exclusive to adults or to kids. So, when considering gathering your ghouls and ghosts together, both young and old, keep the following top etiquette tips in mind:

  • Check with friends before inviting: Halloween lands on one day each and every year, October 31. It's a short season, and many people will be planning Halloween parties. Check with your friends and family BEFORE sending out party invitations to see if the date you choose runs into someone else's party plan. If so, try to work out an arrangement so that both parties can still take place.

Monsters Party Plan
During this festive Halloween season, a Monster Mash party is a perfect celebration to throw, and the monsters can be cute (not scary) too!

Check out Celebrate Express for a darling Monster Party Box that is sure to pull this theme together!

The personalized party invitations and birthday banners are a perfect match too! At this party, make sure to let the kids go Monster Bowling!  Have the kids decorate the old milk jugs as monsters and then line them up and let the kids bowl those monsters over.  A great party craft and activity all-in-one!
Hire a teenager to paint the kids' faces into their own funny monsters!

Classic Trick or Treat Night Out
jack o' lanternsWe all know this age old rhyme as Halloween approaches:

Trick or treat, you're so neat.
Give me something good to eat.
Nuts and candy, fruit and gum.
I'll go away if you give me some.

Trick or treat, smell my feet.
I know you'll give us lots of treats.
Not to big, not to small,
Maybe the size of Montreal.

Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat,
Give me something nice to eat,
If you don't, we don't care,
We'll put money in your underwear!

Cute, huh? Halloween Eve will be a time for kids to get together, don their costumes, and head out into the crisp night air with their torches to light the way. Here are some ideas for the festivities.
Eco-Friendly Halloween Crafts
eco-friendly halloween craftsLooking for ways to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle this Halloween season?  Kiwi Magazine has a great article showcasing easy Halloween crafts that make festive decorations out of toilet paper rolls, milk jugs, and egg cartons.  What a perfect way to not only share quality time with your kids, but also help the environment! I also like the idea of reusing tin cans during the season.  One way to use them is as a round cookie cutter ... a perfect pumpkin in the making!

Second, you can use these tin cans to create lanterns with them to light a path to your front doorway this season.  Here are the simple steps:
